‘Rebel Without A Cause’ (1955) vs. ‘The Room’ (2003)

‘The Room’ (2003)

Anyone who knows film has likely heard of 2003s The Room. This independent, American drama was written, produced and directed by Tommy Wiseau, who also played the lead role of Johnny.

Since its release, The Room has become infamous for it’s bad acting, terrible lines and inconsistent narrative. It now has a cult following, with screenings and a lot of audience participation involved.

There are many (unintentionally) hilarious lines in the film, including a line from Johnny to his girlfriend; “You are tearing me apart, Lisa!”. Actor Greg Sestero, who plays Johnny’s friend Mark in the film, has since said that Wiseau was inspired by James Dean in Rebel Without A Cause when delivering this line.

So… who delivered the line better? Tommy Wiseau or James Dean?? Tough choice.
