Brittany Snow returning for ‘Pitch Perfect 2’

Brittany Snow has been confirmed to reprise her role of Chloe Beale in the sequel to 2012s comedy-musical Pitch Perfect.

Pitch Perfect, based on the non-fiction book by Mickey Rapkin, follows a female cappella group ‘The Barden Bellas’, who compete against another group from their college to win in their campus competition.

Universal Pictures announced this return, along with the return of previous co-stars Rebel Wilson (Bridesmaids) and Anna Kendrick (Twilight).

Elizabeth Banks is making her directorial debut with Pitch Perfect 2, taking over from the first film’s director, Jason Moore. She had previously produced the first film.

Along with Banks, Pitch Perfect 2 will be produced by Paul Brooks and Max Handelman.

Elizabeth Banks is more commonly known as an actress, as will soon be appearing in the US re-make of Bad Education, alongside creator and star Jack Whitehall.

Kay Cannon, who wrote the first film, is also set to write the sequel. Cannon is commonly known as a producer, having previously produced 30 Rock staring Tina Fey, and New Girl staring Zooey Deschanel.

Pitch Perfect was received with critical acclaim; with the US opening weekend of Pitch Perfect estimated to of had an audience which was 81% female, and 55% under the age of 25.

The film has become the second highest grossing comedy-musical in the US, just behind 2003s School of Rock. If this is anything to go by, it seems that Pitch Perfect 2 is due to be a big success!

Pitch Perfect 2 is due to be released in the UK in May 2015.
